As we begin to plan our annual events for the year I would like to thank everyone for a great 2014. I would like to thank everyone involved with MPCA, from fellow officers and committee chairs, to our street representatives and bakers, those who helped weed and mulch, and everyone else who helped make this a great place to live. We had a great year, and 2015 promises to be bigger and better with our 75th Anniversary Celebration in addition to our annual events. However, we are in need of more people to help with our 2015 events.
Specifically, we need volunteers to help us raise funds and awareness by partnering with our neighborhood businesses.The garage sale, family fun night, wine and cheese events,weeding, mulching, gardening,the membership drive, the directory, the children’s parties, and the carriage rides, are examples of annual events in need of additional volunteers. For the 75th Anniversary Celebration, we need a volunteer to chair the parade committee We also need a help with food planning, activities planning, and many other things.
Many of you indicated a willingness to help when we visited during the membership drive, and we will be contacting you in the coming weeks. Please reach out with any questions. I know it’s hard to find the time; but those that do realize how great it is to give back to your community. We all have families, day jobs, many of us have kids, groceries to buy and dinners to make, we all have houses to clean and lawns to mow…but we have managed to make the time to make a difference.
I hope to see familiar faces and many new ones very soon, so that we can make 2015 a great year to live in Minerva Park 🙂
